Happy Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day.
I remember as a kid, my parents venturing off to Connecticut for this annual tag sale that used to take place and for every episode of it, there was rain involved.
My condolences to all the family and loved ones of those fallen soldiers, as well as the ones lost fighting in wars for our freedoms. We salute and honor you today.
And if you identify with me and feel as if this actually is "The Coldest Spring Ever," please check out John Mueller's and my tune on Soundcloud enitlted "The Coldest Spring Ever." PErhaps it will help to add some warmth to this Memorial Day. https://soundcloud.com/stephanay-jnote/the-coldest-spring-ever

I Soldier on With Haitian Culture Seeped Into My Bones
Culture is the wheel that started my life turning from the moment of conception.
I soldier on with Haitian culture seeped into my bones. I feel connected to the world because I know that though people from a diversity of countries may have their differences, we all have aspects of who we are that seem strangely familiar.
It was a terrific experience
trying to hammer out my understanding of Haitian Kreyol, to add it to this song.
Language is a vessel of love that you use while dancing to your rhythm of life.
I have had full color samples of the way my people speak, listening to my
family talk in their native tongues. The culture may have somewhat evaporated
into me, but my output of it is absolutely mine; kinks and all.
When Chicago bassist, John
Mueller, saw interest in collaborating on something musical, one of the creative
suggestions was to try to tackle my Haitian roots. And so, the song “Haitian”
was written and it somewhat paints this wonderful picture of my cultural
background.
I invite you to check out Haitian on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXbuZbhtF_A
“Haitian” is a tune by
Stephanie Jeannot & John Mueller. This tune was originally released on “The
Stephanie Jeannot & John Mueller Project” on October 10, 2020. This song
features multilingual lyrics, both written with English and Haitian Kreyol
words. It’s a song about meeting someone interested in knowing more about one’s
roots and culture. In this scenario, the response is “I am Haitian.” To hear

Happy International Jazz Day
A surge of excitement comes
over me when I hear the impeccably smooth sounds of jazz flowing out of my
Behringer 328i speakers. The joy of the music takes over and I am caught up in
the rapture of the passionate intensity of it all.
There is an assortment of enthusiastic jazz artists from all around the globe that shift my mind to peace when I hear their musical expression. The diversity of style from jazz great to jazz great gives me a pure passion to listen to their razzle dazzle. Sarah Vaughan is one of my all-time favorite singers. Her cultural contribution has had a profound impact on me and I often find myself playing her awe inspiring works on repeat and echoing her sweet refrains.
And so, as an artist, anytime
I get to vocalize and to dress up a melody with my voice, it makes me feel invigorated.
Each opportunity is a unique moment in time within itself. I get excited to
progress towards a live performance.
I enjoy prancing about the
stage and trying to circulate my energy through the room. There is nothing
quite comparable to the feeling you get when you are fully immersed into what
you love to do most. It is like a force of positivity taking over. Even more,
when I get to echo my body of original works before a crowd.
In honor of International Jazz
day and as we come to a conclusion of Jazz Appreciation Month, I hope your
heart will be into checking out my jazz tune.
Its’s entitled “You are the
One” and was written by (me) Stephanie Jeannot and John Mueller. It was released
on the album, The Stephanie Jeannot & John Mueller Project on October 10,
2020 and this is the video to the link: https://youtu.be/gjhhtZYn6No
Thank you so much for reading
my blogpost. Happy International Jazz Day.

The Indie Music Show Airs Every Tuesday Evening at 9PM EST/ 8PM CST on mixlr.com/jnotemusic
What songwriter doesn’t have
ribbons of desire for unique songs to burst into bloom? And what artist or
musician doesn’t enjoy the aesthetic appeal of opportunities to have synergy
with other creative beings?
I don’t know about you, but I
love to hear a bass growling in a live setting. Don’t get me wrong; I guess it
has become the thing to be plugged into the digital realm and to fulfill your
genuine passion through a Zoom meeting every now and again, especially in these
times but, there is nothing like when the melody flows and my gilded wings can
unfold right there in the intimate setting of a live, innovative environment.
There is something special
about putting your effort, originality and skill into the harmonious menu of a
repertoire meant to be performed live. Is that just the way I think or is it a
thought that other musicians and those who have a true cultural enjoyment of
music thinks?
What will you hear? A shared thirst for all things music. We
launch conversations about the practice of music, the study of music, the
performance and recording of our music and some of the many artists that do
music with some beautiful indie sounds sprinkled into the mix.
We dive headlong into it every
Tuesday evening at 9PM EST/ 8PM CST and I hope that this blogpost might fan a
flame of interest in you to take time out of your schedule this evening and log
on to http://mixlr.com.jnotemusic to
listen.
Until then, Peace.

Help Request...
I am a passionate R&B/Soul artist full of lyrical color and vocal dexterity to bring hope, balance, restoration, and self-empowerment to people seeking to be organically uplifted. My music marries a love of creative energy, a powerhouse voice, and an appreciation for the culture and art of writing. I believe that the songs I write can change the world and positively affect people.
I enjoy talking through my music and
saying things that are in my heart that I probably wouldn’t be able to say with
just mere words. The different things that I unleash through writing represents
my voice for the world.
I publish sounds to share to the world
because I have a strong sense of purpose and passion for music, singing and
writing songs and I find enjoyment in collaborating with other artists to craft
new melodies that move people and so it is my mission to create an emotional
connection with those willing to take a chance to listen to the sounds that I have
created.
About a year ago, I decided to venture
into a collaborative project with Chicago based musician and songwriter, John
Mueller, and together, during the pandemic quarantine season, we wrote a number
of songs. Including an album of 13 songs which was released last October to all
streaming platforms. You can check out our project here:
My mission in writing this blog today is
to request your help in getting our songs in front of audiences around the
country. Due to the pandemic, we have yet to come together in unity to share
our music before a broader spectrum of people who need and can benefit from our
live sounds and performances. All our sharing efforts thus far have been virtual.
My goal for the coming months is for us
to join together to perform our original material. If you are reading this,
please consider donating towards my Gofundme campaign. I ask you to take a few
moments to read further details about the campaign here: gf.me/u/zqdspb
and hopefully you will feel as if it is
a worthy cause to donate to.
Thank you so much for your precious time
and God bless you!

Happy National Poetry Month
It is National Poetry Month; a month I hold dear to my heart because I am a poet.
I started writing poetry in the fifth grade and then challenged myself to write 5000 words with which I would publish a book of poetry. And I did.
I write to clear my mind. I
write to pass the time. I write when times are enjoyable and I write when I
feel like I am walking blind.
Whenever I storm with ideas, I put my pen to the paper and scribe away. Sometimes it comes out as a poem and sometimes as a song. Then there are times when a short story is birthed out of my storming.
Some of my favorite moments is
when I get carried away by poetic imagery. I find the art of writing poetry
very enriching and a joyful experience. It is one of the reasons I pursued
English as a major and my primary reason for babbling along. But enough of
that; I want to get your feet wet with a sample of my writing.
Line after line after line
By Stephanie Jeannot
I like to stay in my undisturbed space
When
I’m cooped up at home
I like
to head outdoors onto the grass
And
sit there with my thoughts alone
I feel
ecstatic when I can
operate
creatively there
I add
unto my eclectic repertoire
Fingerprints
of truth
Stored
in my mind among the wares
I’ve
encountered people from all walks of life
That
made contributions to my being
Some
provided a layer of support
And
some that brought winds of change
That
made many moments disappointing
Still
my mind goes spiraling forward
And I
write in those allotment of times
Every
release is a new beginning
Line
after line after line
Thank you for reading and happy
National Poetry Month!
PEACE
