So,
my kids are doing Annie for their winter musical and I am here listening
to the soundtrack, and though my favorite song from the play is
"Tomorrow," another song has grown on me a lot because of the
truthful words; "You Are Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile."
If
you have yet to hear it, you should definitely consider listening to the soundtrack
or seeing the movie. I think I will always love seeing Aileen Quinn, Carol
Burnett and Bernadette Peters playing their roles in this film. My family sat
down to watch it together on Thanksgiving Day and it was something. Brought
back so many memories.

Such a classic musical. Having three daughters who went through musical theatre in high school Im a huge fan of all the musicals. Now Im going to have this song stuck in my head all day though.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the musicals as well. So fun. Good one to have stuck in your head. :) LOL!
DeleteI need to see that!

You should Emmy
DeleteWhat fun for your kids to be doing such a classic as Annie. It's one of my favorites. I loved seeing Carol Burnett in the show and always like to hear the sound track.
ReplyDeleteYes! Annie was a classic. I truly love this movie. So it is fun helping to put the musical together.
DeleteI loved the musical and would love to watch it again. Thank goodness they have it now on DVD! I can watch it anytime I wish and I'd love to have my grandchildren sit and watch this with me too. "Tomorrow" is still my favorite motivational song from the musical.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that song. I start singing it out of nowhere sometimes. Just a lovely tune.
DeleteI love Annie! I was actually thinking about introducing my kids to this movie/story - thinking they are old enough now. I remember watching Annie a lot at my grandmother;s house. She didnt have many movies at home so we watched this one a lot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great film to introduce them to. It is such a heart-warming one.
DeleteI don't really know how it's possible, but I have yet to ever watch Annie! There are many old classics that I have never seen -- which reminds me that I really need to change that! How fun for your kids to be involved in keeping Annie alive for new generations.
ReplyDeleteReally. Nothing wrong with that though I will let you know that once you watch it, you will love it so much, all the songs will be in your head and you will be singing them all day.
DeleteWe love Annie! It was one of my daughters favorites growing up. I love Carol Burnett and her role in Annie it is one of her best.
ReplyDeleteYeah! She was really great in that movie.
DeleteI absolutely loved the original Annie, and would sing those songs until my throat hurt when I was a kid. And, even though I've seen it a million times, I can't for the life of me remember the tune of ' You Are Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile.' Guess I better go look it up.
ReplyDeleteYou will love it. All the songs are in my head now because I heard the kids sing the songs about 50 times today. LOL!
DeleteOne of my fave movies ever! The songs, the dancing, the skits, I love it alll! It is such a feel good movie and for me, I go back to a young age that was so simple and happy!
ReplyDeleteI still love it so much. Look forward to seeing it again really soon.
DeleteAnnie has always been one of my FAVORITE movies and musicals! I have to watch it whenever it is on and yes, I sing along with every song! Punjab was my favorite character when I was younger and as I grew up (and fell in love with Tim Curry) I adored Rooster and Ms. Hannigan!
ReplyDeletePunjab was hilarious and so was Rooster and Miss Hannigan. LOL! :)
DeleteHow fun is that! Ive always been a big fan of this movie
ReplyDeleteMe too. LOL! :)
DeleteLove Annie and I like the quote about not being dressed without a smile. We should all greet the world with a smile.
ReplyDeleteYup. You never know who's world you might brighten just by smiling at them.
DeleteTil this day I sing that song to remind myself to smile. Plus it's good for the jaw muscles LOL! If only every one would remember this and perhaps hum the tune to themselves, we'd have a happier world.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are so hilarious.
DeleteAnnie is a great show and a family favorite. I bet your family had a good Thanksgiving watching the movie.
ReplyDeleteWe all had such a fantastic time. Funny! My nephew who is ten was so against watching it and had an attitude for the first half hour of it until he realized, this movie is great, got into it and was laughing along with us and even singing the songs. Have to love a film that has that type of impact.
DeleteAnnie is definitely one of my favorite musicals of all time! I remember watching it as a young child with my grandparents. Love those memories!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is also my favorite song from Annie but You Are Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile is also good. I love a good musical.
ReplyDeleteI love Annie. Always have. My hubby jokes that I still go around the house singing the songs from it like crazy. Did you see the reality show they had a few years ago about the casting of the broadway musical? It as hilarious. Very fun.
