I Entered the 7th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Please Listen & Vote!

Hey everybody.

Every year, Indaba Music hosts a number of different music competitions where artists can enter in and have an opportunity of winning. I have entered quite a few contests myself in the past because I wanted to see what would happen.

This year, Indaba Music once again hosts the 7th annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Artists are supposed to enter into the competition and submit three selections; one ballad, one mid-tempo or blues tune and one upbeat jazz song; one of which must be a cover of a song that the Divine One Sarah Vaughan has done.

So I decided to enter into the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and I am hoping that perhaps you will take a listen and hopefully vote for one or more of my submissions.

This is my Ballad entry: "Tenderly - Stephanie Jeannot"

This is my Midtempo Blues entry: "Route 66 - Stephanie Jeannot"  https://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/7th-annual-sarah-vaughan-international-jazz-vocal-competition/submissions/6aa870be-74fa-11e8-ac47-0ecda187fe01

This is my Uptemo entry: "Caravan - Stephanie Jeannot" https://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/7th-annual-sarah-vaughan-international-jazz-vocal-competition/submissions/3c68820e-74fd-11e8-8615-0ecda187fe01

Please listen and vote. Maybe you'll like one of them. Maybe you'll like more than one. Hopefully, you will at least take a listen.

Thank you so much in advance and God bless!

Help Me Win This Year's International Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition.

Help me to spread the word and to win this year's International Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition.

I had the unique audacity of entering into this competition with the hopes that maybe I would maybe advance to the next round and possibly win this thing. So here is me putting feet to my faith.

Would you be so kind as to ponder the concept of clicking on any one of the three of my submissions, listening to my cover and clicking vote on it? I realize that every selection might not appeal to every ear and so, I added all three and am asking that you choose at least one and help me to level the playing field.

I am thinking through my fingers as I write this post with humble honesty. I have cruised through practically the entirety of my span of time here on this earth with a voice and a heart to use it. I have even tackled the world of music and slipped into the scene as myself, doing what I love to do the most with everything that I have in me to give. And realizing that I have the explosive potential to rise against the wind, I am hoping that you will float through these melodies with me in mind, and help me to hammer home the idea.

I must say, just by reading this post, you are playing an active role in my life and I thank you
for that. I am won over when I see some of the most inspiring comments to ever touch my eyes on every social platform I share. I enter into a world of optimism just by reading about your lives and the things that you do and all for a great reason; to motivate each other to keep on keeping on.

Thank you for it all and thank you for considering my contest submissions in this year’s 8th Annual Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition as one worthy of a win.
And here they are:

Thank you for reading my blogpost and for voting. Have a wonderful day!

I Entered the Sarah Vaughan International Singing Competition; Pls Listen and Vote

I love Jazz music and have been truly inspired by so many jazz artists that have come and graced the world with their wonderful talents. Sarah Vaughan is definitely one of those artists.

Her voice is da bomb. She has such an incredible range and her vocal stylings are fantastic. Some of the riffs that you hear in her songs, you do not hear from any other vocalist's voice. I love the depth of her voice and I like her approach a lot.

Plus, I love her sophistication. She graced the stage with such beauty and charisma. Always makes me feel like trying to imitate and get bedazzled to croon, like she and many of the other jazz vocalists did.

Often times, I find myself doing searches on artists or singing opportunities on Google. And surprisingly, I came across the Sarah Vaughan International Singing Competition and so decided to join in. For one, Sarah Vaughan has the biggest playlist of songs on my IPOD. I could listen to her voice and sing along with her all day and never get tired. Not to mention that, her songs and the way she sings them always makes me feel like getting on my feet and singing; wherever I am.

So when I went to the Indaba Music site and saw that this competition was live and on-going, I decided that it would only be right to honor such a wonderful singer as the Divine One.

The contest directs each singer to upload three selections that Sarah Vaughan sang by either downloading the track made available to competitors or some other suggested songs featured on a PDF file to choose from and adding your vocal rendition to it and submitting them  into the contest.

I'd like to invite you today to listen to my submissions and please if you listen and you liked what you heard, vote.  The only way for me to advance to the next round is by the votes of anyone willing to vote for me. I hope you will! Here are the links:
